- arguably the finest “proper” blues player on the British blues scene under 30. THREE TIMES nominated for Guitarist of the Year in the British Blues Awards, he is as adept at the dark art of slide guitar as conventional playing, and equally at ease wailing on a Strat or playing fingerstyle country blues,. His style is very much his own, though influences include Duane Allman, Jimmie Vaughan, Doyle Bramhall II and Gary Clark Jr. A founder member of the now-defunct HOKIE JOINT, when not playing with WOLFPACK, Hofner Guitars endorsee Joel also plays for LAVENDORE ROGUE and Americana trio The Struck Bats.
WITHOUT a shadow of a doubt, one of the finest shuffle drummers on the planet and boasting versatility which allows him to play everything from old-school Chicago blues to cajun, to heavy rock.
These are attributes which have made him much in demand among the British blues community. Among those who have called on his services in recent years are Gypie Mayo (Dr Feelgood) , Steve "West" Weston, Nicky Moore, Sean Webster, Son Henry, Martin McNeill, Jeff Shaw and Gentleman Tim and the Contenders
He worked with Tim Aves and Rob Barry in the ROCKIN' ARMADILLOS for nearly 14 years and the best part of 1,100 shows...
